Pom Poms are double coated with a dense and short undercoat and a long and harsh outer coat. Their whole body is covered with hair including the head region, forelegs and hind legs. Their Tail is heavily covered with harsh hair and forms a plume. Male pom poms generally have a longer and thicker coat than the female ones. Pomeranians are available in wide range of colors and can have both lighter and darker tones.
They have a compact and well-ribbed body with a small and oval chest area and a short and straight back region. Their neck is sufficient in size when compared to the rest of their body. Forequarters and hindquarters are strong and evenly balanced.

Being a smaller breed, pom poms have reasonable dietary needs. The amount of food should gradually increase with their age. A high-quality feeding material in sufficient amount which can be home cooked or commercially produced as per the liking and suitability of this woolly pooch is enough to satisfy its feeding needs.

Around the year 1761, the popularity of this breed reached England when a young Princess of a neighboring province of Pomerania, named Sophie married an English Prince. She brought two dogs with her which were white in color. At that time, mostly the royal families were the admirers of this breed.
After several years, their popularity skyrocketed when Queen Victoria came into power. During her time, she was famous for breeding several different breeds but was more inclined towards pom poms. Because of her love and interest in this breed, several breeders in England were inspired to raise this fluffy canine. And, soon Pomeranians became a household name in almost whole of the England and later rest of the world.
